How Your Data and Research Sessions Are Protected – Rethovarnel
How we collect, use and protect your personal information when you use our service.
What information we collect and why
When you use the assistant, we collect the information you provide directly — including your email address if you subscribe to our newsletter or create an account, and the content of your research sessions. We also collect standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and usage patterns, which helps us maintain and improve the service. We do not collect information you do not provide to us, and we do not purchase data about you from third parties.
We use this information solely to provide and improve the research assistant service, to send you the communications you have requested, and to comply with our legal obligations. We do not use your research session content to generate signals, insights or products for any party other than you. Your investment thinking is yours, and we treat it accordingly.
How we store and protect your data
Your data is stored on servers located within the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss or disclosure. These measures are reviewed regularly and updated in line with current best practice for consumer data security.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as long as is necessary to provide the service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes. You can request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at the address below.
Your rights and how to exercise them
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to correct inaccurate data, to request deletion, to object to certain uses of your data, and to receive your data in a portable format. You also have the right to withdraw consent for any processing that is based on consent, at any time and without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at privacy@this research tool.co.uk. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. If you are not satisfied with our response, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection supervisory authority, at ico.org.uk.
